A message from Barb
There are just some moments in life you don’t forget. Like the sunny afternoon when she wandered up our driveway. She was a black lab mix, thin, with an old, cracked leather collar with no tags. She greeted my son and I with enthusiasm, like we were long-lost friends. We were unable to locate her owner so, she became our dog. We named her Charlie.
Not long after she arrived, I spent a year working as a dog trainer for a major pet supply store. Charlie became one of my students. She was a quick learner and completed all the classes for her Canine Good Citizen Certificate.
A few years later my husband and I decided to take a photography class. We were asked to take images of a variety of subjects. I was drawn to studio pet portraits and Charlie was quite happy to be my practice model.
We lost Charlie in April of 2019, almost exactly 12 ½ years from the time she found us.
I was so blessed to have her in my life and so thankful that she had been on this photography journey with me. When I recently rebranded and updated my logo, it seemed appropriate to make her the central figure in the design.
To quote Agnes Turnbull,
“Dogs’ lives are too short. Their only fault, really.”
This is why I am a photographer. I am not the only one who has owned or currently owns a “Charlie” and it is my joy to capture your pet’s portrait so that we can make your “Charlie moments” last a lifetime.
